The road to Waldo Canyon 3_6_24

Located South of Santa Fe, Waldo Canyon is close to the small town of Cerrillos. Like its larger neighbor Madrid, Cerrillos was originally a bustling mining town and home to the world famous Cerrillos turquoise. That, along with lead and silver; have been mined since the original Pueblo indians arrived around 700 AD. Now the town is a sleepy home for locals, artists and shops. We also happened to catch the Amtrak Southwest Chief on its way North to Lamy.
