Some shots of the desert cactus blooms that are still happening despite the heat. And one last look at the thrasher young ‘uns.

Almost every year, we have a nest of thrashers in a nearby cholla. I’m certain it’s the same family that builds them year after year. The cholla cactus keeps out snakes and other predators, but high winds have knocked the cradle around pretty well. Getting these shots mean sticking my hand into cactus city.

My good buddy Scott Gerber is working to provide books to teens in areas where their schools and libraries are increasingly banning them. His non-profit Banned Books For All is seeking funds to pay publishers and make available prohibited books in digital format, starting in the five states with the greatest number of book challenges. Please check out BannedBooksForAll.org and consider making a donation at SupportBBFA.org.

Lots of moisture and rain this week and interesting cumulus clouds building in the mornings.

Irises are in full bloom as well as the wildflowers in the greenbelt.
