My first photo of the elusive neighborhood bobcat was quickly followed by a juvenile harrier flying down the greenbelt. Earlier, I saw our local coyote out hunting in the greenbelt. The first snow of the year appeared in the Jemez on the 24th with interesting wispy clouds and sunsets as the storm lifted. Finally, a photo of the local Dia de los Muertos musical celebration at Our Lady of Light church in Lamy, NM.

It’s that time o’ year once again. The trees are losing their leaves, there’s a chill in the air and everyone is wondering when Death’s shadowy IQ test results will arrive. In that sinister spirit, I offer the venomous visions of my Annual Halloween Cartoon 2025. I was lucky to find those semi-expired anxiety pills in order to steady my shaky hand and guide my pen in finishing this year’s nightmare.
So stagger over to https://jaboart.com/Halloween/Hallo25/Hallo25.html and have a laugh while it’s still legal.
Happy Halloween, Dia de los Muertos and Apocalypse (if scheduled)!

Amazing cumulonimbus clouds developed above us at sunset this evening. Udder-like mammatus clouds grew until the lightning and short rains and then they were gone.

Joan got a nice photo of the clouds at sunrise and I took some of the nearby mountains at sunset (they have an almost watercolor painting look to them). Also made a timelapse of the storms earlier this month. I tried to get a shot of the Comet Lemmon but it’s tiny and grainy. Oh well… I can try again in 1300 years!

Largest crowd yet. And lots of animal suits (I hear it’s called tactical frivolity).

The Vladem Contemporary Art Museum was featuring an exhibit of the Art Nouveau artist, Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Originally from Czechoslovakia and later working in Paris, he was a painter, illustrator and graphic artist who was widely regarded as a founder of the Art Nouveau movement. His work later drew the attention of the Nazis and he died in 1939 shortly after his arrest, imprisonment and release. His work was an inspiration for the psychedelic art of the 60’s and for Manga and Comic art of today.
On the way to the museum, I watched the local Roadrunner leave the station and later saw the Sky Railway train pass through the neighborhood.

Wet weather moved in last week and brought interesting clouds along with almost 2 inches of rain. So far, it’s been a very wet Fall this year.

I was hanging out watching the sunset when two young coyotes came bounding by. Each one stopped and posed for me before bounding off again. Heard them howling later in the evening.
