Even more Fall colors!!!

Yet another trip up the Ski Basin to see the Fall colors.

One month ago today, our little pup Marley (aka Bubs, Boots, Bestest Boy Ever in the Whole World, etc) passed on to the Great Scratching Post in the Sky. We miss him terribly… but know that somewhere a little grey kitten with a missing toe and crooked tail tip is causing trouble.

We watched the annular eclipse from our front yard and I got some shots but missed the ring, doh! We also recreated the photo we took at Moraine Park in Rocky Mt. National Park during the eclipse of 2017.

16 years of essentially the same shot on the Aspen Vista Trail in the Santa Fe National Forest above Santa Fe, New Mexico (except for 2005, when we discovered the side trail that led up to the view of the Rio Grande Valley and Tetilla Peak). I’ll post more photos from 2023 in a bit. We love Fall in New Mexico!

We went to the 51st Fall Harvest Festival at Las Golondrinas; a living history museum of the Spanish colonial settlers of New Mexico. Cottonwoods would normally be turning orange but it was still too warm. We had fun exploring all the buildings and learning from the docents who volunteer to re-enact the lives of the past residents.

Some juicy cumulonimbus rolled in to bring us a nice rain.

Took a wonderful trip to see good friends in Greenville, South Carolina and were treated to the many beautiful tree covered mountains and gurgling streams. Nice to get a dose of green (and the cool temperatures and low humidity made it even better!).
