We went to the 51st Fall Harvest Festival at Las Golondrinas; a living history museum of the Spanish colonial settlers of New Mexico. Cottonwoods would normally be turning orange but it was still too warm. We had fun exploring all the buildings and learning from the docents who volunteer to re-enact the lives of the past residents.
Took a wonderful trip to see good friends in Greenville, South Carolina and were treated to the many beautiful tree covered mountains and gurgling streams. Nice to get a dose of green (and the cool temperatures and low humidity made it even better!).
The State of Florida has issued an advisory regarding the updated Covid booster, declaring that no one under the age of 65 should get the vaccine. According to the Governor, “I will not stand by and let the FDA and CDC use healthy Floridians as guinea pigs for new booster shots that have not been proven safe or effective.”
So why isn’t this the case for the most vulnerable (and perhaps largest percentage of Florida’s population) who are over 65? If this vaccine is as dangerous and ineffective as they assert… why is it ok for Florida’s older citizens to act as “guinea pigs”? I suspect that the Governor and his ilk know that if these folks follow his unsubstantiated advice (as many will do anyway), a number of them will end up terminally unwoke.

The old Santa Fe Southern Railway is now the Sky Railway… complete with dragon cars. Here’s a video of the train passing through the neighborhood on its way back to Santa Fe from Lamy. Nice to see happy folks ridin’ the rail again!
