And a slo-cloud timelapse.

And a slo-cloud timelapse.

Nice clouds rolling over Tschicoma Peak and later, a brief sunset.

Just a tad bit late but it turned out very nice!

Interesting lenticular clouds and a modest sunset after our Bernardo adventure. The sun set between the prominent Cerrillos hills in the distance.

We drove down South to the Ladd S. Gorden Waterfowl Complex in Bernardo, NM to see the sandhill cranes and snow geese wintering there. A lot of birds, maybe due to the cold up North. The geese made a couple of mass take-offs which is always a pleasure to watch (even if the camera was shaky!). Also saw a Blackhawk chopper refueling operation pass overhead.

Finally warming up from the bitter cold that’s been hanging around. Going on our usual walks proved challenging but we bundled up and slogged on. The first photo shows the sandhill cranes that passed right over us. The timelapse is the last storm moving through and the last video is a loud raven at the local shoe store.

Thanks to El Niño, we’ve had a steady stream of storms passing through… along with temperatures that aren’t much above freezing. The photos and time lapse videos below are what I’ve collected when it was warm enough to venture out. I’m amazed how fast the clouds are sailing by in the videos (each represents about 10 minutes). Another storm with snow and frigid temps is due tomorrow and probably another after that. Glad to get the moisture but ready for it to get just a bit warmer and less icy!

Posted a tad bit late after post holidaze recovery.

Happy New Year!
