Owl enjoying the sunset 5_18_20
As usual, I was photographing the evening’s sunset when this great horned owl flew into a nearby tree. We both sat for a long while watching the twilight colors until he rose up and silently flew away.

Curve-billed thrasher nest
Our first visible nest of the Spring. These birds seem to like our casa as they are always hanging around.
Black-chinned Hummingbird 4_28_20
Three of these fellows are now fighting over the feeder. They are also doing the mating flight where they dive and ascend in a u-shape over a resting female while making a buzzing noise. Fun to watch.

A pair of this season’s first scaled quail appeared at our bird bath and this one was especially proud!
Spring greenbelt hike 4_4_20
Brought the camera along in case the bald eagle was in the neighborhood. He was a no show but other critters were out.
