Here are photos that I’ve been meaning to add to last year’s posts but never got around to. Included are a trip to Big Tesuque Creek, our vacation at Lake Tahoe, our resident Great Horned Owl, a plastic Maizey and finally an assortment of time-lapse clouds.
Let’s hope it’s a better one than the last.
After a rainy Saturday and a below freezing evening, we woke up to some beautifully elegant ice crystals on our cars. Had to catch them before they vanished with the rising Sun!
This year’s card, a Christmas kitty, Solstice cheer found along the Rail Trail and our holiday lights. May these help brighten your holidays and may the next year bring glad tidings.
A day trip to the Ladd Gorden Waterfowl Complex to see the sandhill cranes and snow geese. Not as many birds here this year as last year’s visit. Maybe due to the warmer weather.
Our warm dry weather held until the post-Thanksgiving sunset, then turned colder and delivered 2 inches of snow on Wednesday. The robins have been emptying the bird bath almost hourly and I spotted a rare red-winged blackbird at the feeder. Our old pumpkins were finally retired and tonight the Cold Moon rose over the Sangres.
We traveled up to Pueblo, CO to attend the Division II playoff game between the University of Texas Permian Basin Falcons (#10) and the Colorado State University Pueblo Thunderwolves (#4). My nephew is the Assistant Head Coach for UTPB. The Falcons jumped off to a 17 – 0 first half and never looked back, winning the first playoff victory in team history. Very exciting game that both teams played well.
